Bitwise Legal is a boutique law firm focused on the needs of software and interactive entertainment clients.  At the beginning of 2009, firm principal Michael Schneider left his position as a senior associate with the Silicon Valley technology firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, to work more closely with startup clients and branch out into mobile publishing.

Michael received his Bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and his Juris Doctorate from UC Hastings.  Notable clients include Bungie, developer of the Halo series of video games for Microsoft’s Xbox platform; Seattle based Inner Fence, developers of the popular Credit Card Terminal application for the iPhone; and RPA Tech, developers of Mobile Airmouse for the iPhone.

Bitwise Legal drafts and negotiates contracts involving content and technology, including inbound and outbound licenses, OEM agreements, joint venture agreements, cross-marketing agreements, sales representative and referral agreements, affiliate marketing, development, hosted software licensing, and publishing agreements. We also work with clients on Internet advertising agreements and sweepstakes and contest-related promotions.
